As is our tradition at Advanced UK, all staff joined together for a huge fundraiser to buy presents for children in the community whose families have found themselves up against hard times.
After making the donation of many sacks full of toys to the Salvation Army in Hillingdon, Advanced UK Sales Director, Joe Gallagher said, “It was quite humbling yesterday delivering and seeing the team not only working on where to distribute the children’s toys but also approx. 100 Xmas day food hampers they were making to give to those living alone in poverty on Xmas day.”
Joe continued, “It made me think that with our pressies we are giving at least 50 smiles to many children to make their Xmas day full of all the excitement it should bring.”
We then received a lovely message from Janet Keane of the Salvation Army who wrote:
Dear Joe
Thank you so much for the wonderful donations we received on Monday from you and your colleagues. Fred and his team of helpers were happy to meet you and accept the toys on our behalf.
We have had many more requests this year from families needed help to provide toys for their children and the quantity and quality of donations we have received has been amazing. It’s lovely to see such an outpouring of kindness and generosity when so many people are struggling, especially at this time of year.
Please convey our sincere gratitude to all who contributed to the collection, and may I wish you all a blessed Christmas and a happy and healthy new year.

There you have it. Another example of a small business proving that everyone can make a contribution to the communities in which they operate. For us, it was as simple as suggesting to everyone that we skip the Secret Santa and do this.
