Advanced UK Proud Sponsors of the Weir Archer Academy

David Weir

Advanced UK is an official Weir Archer Academy sponsor and we’re proud to be collaborating with such an amazing organisation. The Weir Archer Academy provides athlete and coaching support and expertise across all levels and abilities, working with many schools in different regions. The academy offers support to athletes with disabilities, providing them with the right training and allowing them to progress under the watchful eye of David and Jenny who are both experienced in the field; with David being a Paralympian athlete and Jenny a Paralympian coach. The Weir Archer Academy aims to inspire the youth and increase the interest surrounding athletics with the overall aim of bringing communities together through participation. They support schools and share knowledge to improve the self-development of young talents, giving them the guidance they require. Advanced UK and Weir Archer will work together with a goal to increase the interest around the athletic action to come this summer. With some exciting athletic events coming up, we felt it was the perfect time to team up with Weir Archer who are passionate about athletics and want to spread the popularity around various disciplines within the sport as well as inspire people to participate.

David Weir, the People’s Hero!

The Weir Archer Academy is owned by David Weir and Jenny Archer who became David’s coach back in 2002. Jenny Archer has been awarded the accolade for services to disabled sport after playing a key part in David Weir’s success, who has won 10 Paralympic medals under her guidance. David Weir is a British Paralympic wheelchair athlete with a total of 6 gold medals to his name from the 2008 and 2012 Paralympics alone. The Paralympian has a long list of achievements but winning the London Marathon seven times must be one of his greatest! David Weir was introduced to wheelchair racing at a young age and has been passionate about it ever since. David is now giving back to the community through the Weir Archer Academy and is known as a champion of the people – he even has a leisure centre named after him in Surrey! We are very inspired by the noble work the Weir Archer Academy is doing and are committed to supporting them in all they set out to accomplish.
